Switching to satellite/February 22, 2003Since I work from home, I have a TV on at all times. I do it because otherwise I would feel too lonely plus it helps me stay at my desk. The TV helps keep me at my desk because I have a really short attention span, and when my brain starts to wonder off the TV immediately catches my attention. I probably spend about 10 to 12 hours in front of the tube, I watch pretty much everything worth watching, on the news, financial, cooking, science, technology, history and even home improvement channels. My monthly cable bill comes up to about $100 dollars, which I think to be pretty steep and unfortunately has a pretty incomplete line up. I don't have any of the Fox News channels as well as having CNBC cut in the middle of the day to be replaced by a stupid an moronic local comedy channel. I am aware that for the average person that wouldn't be a big deal but for someone like me the situation is pretty much unacceptable. I will be switching to a dish pretty soon. |
