Not So Free

September 04, 2003

Originally this post was about a great little article I found about the humble beginnings of the "magazine that launched a decade" Wired magazine. Unfortunately the article being referred to was from business 2.0, a magazine that recently started charging users to access past print articles from their web site. So much for the free flow of information.

Also on what was supposed to be the humble beginnings post; ex-frog and current Speak Up author Damien Newman, launches mdn weekly "a weekly brand strategy newsletter".

Moving on…
Continuing my quest to find graphics to adorn my empty walls, I almost got suckered into spending $500 for a piece of "art" on Tuesday. True to be told the "art" I was looking at was nothing more than an indeed nice retro-looking piece of fabric mounted on a canvas.
Now at home and after a few minutes of researching, I have come to the conclusion that a better option to my not so cheap piece of "art", is to get a nice and big canvas say a 36" by 36" on sale for $24 and cover it with some fabric from the rather groovy selection of fabrics at Reprodepot.
